Building a clear strategy on commercially attractive distribution opportunities for a rapidly evolving Market
Establishing and building outstanding multi-layer relationships within the D2C Wealth market
Excellent understanding of Aviva's ambition and strategy in Direct Wealth with the ability to articulate these messages with key internal and external stakeholders to drive growth opportunities
Identify, develop & manage new external opportunities working with the wider business to secure external new business
Strong Business Development experience with a proven track record of delivering rapid business growth through distribution partnerships.
Experienced in creating and maintaining a robust pipeline of external opportunity within Financial Services is essential.
Ability to establish, maintain and manage excellent relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Able to assess the commerciality of a prospect and its viability for our business.
Good understanding of Business Development strategy, with the ability to pivot accordingly to changing landscapes and ambitions.
Starting salary circa £65,000 / circa £75,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity - 12% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.

Business Development Manager - Salary: National – circa £65,000/ London - circa £75,000
Location: Field based / Hybrid based from London, Bristol, Eastleigh, Norwich or York.
Aviva are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager, who is excited by the hunt of external new business prospects, to join our newly formed Direct Wealth business area!
Direct Wealth is a key strategic business within Aviva’s Wealth offering. Our vision is to simplify life’s financial decisions so our customers can act with confidence. This is delivered through a mobile-first experience offering our customers support to understand their holistic financial position, putting them on the right path to reach their personal goals and seamlessly execute at the level that suits them. Our services sit over our core product set, covering ISA’s, SIPPs, GIA and a cash savings marketplace.
We have ambitions to grow to be a Market leading player in the D2C Market, with a highly stretching three-year plan. A key part of this will be expanding our distribution opportunities beyond direct marketing. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a critical role in accelerating the scaling of the business with accountability for increasing revenue and acquiring customers to agreed targets.
Please note this position will include regular travel to client site meetings and/or our London Hoxton office.
A bit about the job:
The purpose of this role is to secure new Direct Wealth distribution opportunities. This is achieved specifically through:
You will be an expert in business development processes and play a leading role in acquiring external new business opportunities, with the aim to maximise profitable growth opportunities and strategic new supplier relationships.
You will manage key internal & external partners/stakeholder relationships and provide input into improving business development processes, leading on tenders and pitches.
