- Utilize CAD methodologies to create and release part files, work on A-surface models, and apply knowledge-based engineering in Catia V6.
- Develop and design interior Door Trim components for premium vehicles.
- Recommend effective part interfaces from the industry that meet craftsmanship targets and benefit the customer at affordable costs.
- Interface with engineers throughout the full design phase, from the first sketch to the final component release and production validation on vehicles.
- Ensure all geometric, technical, and validation requirements for each milestone delivery are analyzed and met, iterating improvements as necessary for changing markets.
- Collaborate with the design studio, vehicle packaging, advanced engineering, manufacturing, simulation, and dimensional teams to develop optimal design solutions.
- Maintain the bill of materials and identify pathways for cost reductions and manufacturing improvements.
- Work with the Crash Safety team to ensure the design meets homologation requirements.
- 8+ years of experience as a detail-oriented CAD engineer in Interior Components and Systems, including applications on Interior Door Trim panels.
- Experience creating complex CAD models in CATIA V6 quickly and efficiently while maintaining excellent standards for CAD parts, trees, links, and publications.
- Proven expertise in geometrical dimensioning and tolerance, applying tolerance targets to component locators, attachment methods, and overall gap and flushness requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of the automotive Interior Components and Systems industry, including benchmarks, trends, and supplier competencies.
- Vehicle and product launch experience.
- Experience in interior processes such as wrapping, injection molding, painting, and compression molding.
- Proven experience in selecting polymers for the design of interior components.
- Strong engineering fundamentals to create innovative solutions.
- Experience in mold flow simulations.
- Work ethic that results in the best overall solutions, even in high-pressure situations.
- Experience with one full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive instrument panels.
- Proficiency in modal analysis, finite element method analysis, and computational fluid dynamics.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team with members of different cultures and nationalities.
- Fluency in a second language such as Spanish or German.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
