The role
As a CAD Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working as part of our rail business, you will be implementing the design manager’s policy for the provision of a comprehensive, professional and cost-effective drawing service on a wide variety of civil engineering projects to ensure successful delivery to clients.
Day to day, you’ll be part of a larger team responsible for delivering rail design projects nationally to include NI, Scotland, England and Wales.
• Prepare quality and professional drawings on a wide range of engineering projects
• Assist in developing the CAD section by promoting new ideas
• Assist with the development of quality procedures to maintain ISO 9002 registration
• Carry out surveys, site monitoring and undertake safety supervision roles as requiredEssential experience of the CAD Technician
• Practical CAD experience ideally relating to general civil engineering
• Computer literate in the use of CAD facilities including AutoCAD and Microstation
• Ideally sound working knowledge of British & European drawing standards
• Ability to work under own initiative37 hours per week with hybrid working arrangement
Qualifications for the CAD Technician
• ONC or above in civil engineering or other relevant engineering disciplineThe successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
