      CAD/GIS Specialist

      Must be a United States citizen with a clear background for government security investigation with the ability to obtain a Clearance or Common Access Card (CAC).

      Provides support as part of our company’s on-site engineering team to assist across a wide variety of military facility requirements at Yokota Air Base, Japan. Specially, this position will be key to supporting the base’s Real Property portfolio in support of Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness. S pecializes in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS) software for spatial data analysis and visualization. Possesses expertise in creating, managing, and manipulating digital maps, as well as designing and drafting technical drawings and models. Collaborates with various stakeholders, such as architects, engineers, urban planners, and environmental scientists, to integrate spatial data into their projects for informed decisions. Assists in the development of accurate and detailed maps, perform data analysis, generate reports, and contribute to the efficient management of spatial information.

      Compensation & Benefits:

      Estimated Starting Salary Range for GIS Specialist : $ 75 ,000 - $80,000

      Housing allowance to be included upon approval.

      GIS Specialist Responsibilities Include:

      • Exhibits proficiency in using industry-standard CAD and GIS software tools such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar applications. Has familiarity with data formats, coordinate systems, and spatial analysis techniques.
      • Analyzes spatial data and performs geospatial analysis using GIS software. Skills in spatial data querying, overlay analysis, buffering, and spatial modeling to derive meaningful insights and support decision-making processes.
      • Creates accurate and detailed technical drawings, maps, and models using CAD software. Understands drafting standards, symbols, and conventions.
      • Has experience in managing and organizing large datasets, including data acquisition, cleansing, integration, and quality control. Familiarity with databases and data management principles.
      • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify spatial patterns, interpret data, and develop innovative solutions for complex spatial problems. Thinks critically and makes informed decisions based on spatial analysis results.
      • Has effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders, present findings, and convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
      • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and works in a project-based environment.
      • Ensures accuracy and precision in data analysis, mapping, and drafting. Ability to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies in spatial data.
      • Stay updated with advancements in CAD and GIS technologies, industry best practices, and emerging trends. Enhances technical skills through professional development opportunities.
      • Manage and prioritizes multiple projects, meets deadlines, and works independently or as part of a team. Proficiency in project planning, organization, and coordination.
      • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing project requirements, work in diverse environments, and embrace new technologies and methodologies in the CAD/GIS field.
      • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

      CAD/GIS Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

      • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
      • Experience /combined education: At least 5+ years of experience with working on developing CAD designs and mapping.
      • Demonstrated experience working with CAD and GIS data integration; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to aid with GIS integration.
      • Experience with GPS data collection process; field data collection methods, survey techniques and knowledge of accuracy standards.
      • Preferred experience working with Tableau, ArcGIS software suite, geodatabases, and GIS data management systems.
      • Experience in developing maps for visualization and analysis. Working knowledge of the DoD and Air Force policies and regulations related to facilities planning and engineering projects of varying scopes up to MILCON level is preferred.
      • Familiarity with Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) is a plus.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to pass drug screening and a federal background check.
      • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
