    • Supervises and participates in the preparation and serving of food.
    • Supervises the storage and care of foods and supplies.
    • Sees that menus promulgated by the director of food services are followed without deviation.
    • Oversees and participates in the cleaning of kitchen, serving, storage and dining areas.
    • Assumes responsibility for checking that all equipment in the cafeteria area is in safe working condition and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs or replacements are needed.
    • Maintains records on food and supplies received and used.
    • Evaluates the performance of all cafeteria employees.
    • Assumes responsibility for the security of revenue from the cafeteria until it has been placed in the bank.
    • Instructs new cafeteria employees in performing their assigned tasks.
    • Performs any other duties assigned by the director of food services.
    • TITLE: CAFETERIA MANAGER

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      1. Minimum of three years successful experience as an assistant cook in a comparable district or as an alternative, work experience in a restaurant, hotel or similar food service setting.
      2. Such alternative qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

      REPORTS TO: Director of Food Services
      JOB GOAL: To insure an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness in which students may be served nutritious, attractive meals.

      PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
      1. Supervises and participates in the preparation and serving of food.
      2. Supervises the storage and care of foods and supplies.

      Terms of Employment: Ten month basis. Salary to be according to current schedule.

      Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with state and board regulations/policies by the director of food services.
