- Meet sales goals and budget numbers for assigned book of business.
- Regularly call on current, target and prospective customers in order to generate sales, grow market share and increase income for Ralco.
- Seek to understand the needs of the customer, in turn, select Ralco products and services to satisfy those needs.
- Increase product penetration and sales volume with existing accounts.
- Establish appropriate relationships with distributor sales representatives, customers and their key personnel.
- Ability to communicate with large groups detailing products.
- Estimated 60% travel to promote the product line.
- Provide training and education to Account Managers and Distributors/Dealers as part of an account management team
- Utilize Salesforce to document account activity.
- Review and utilize sales data and analysis in pre and post call planning.
- Demonstrate competency in Ralco animal health programs and products.
- Establish account profiles including volume potentials for customers and prospects within the territory.
- Detail and/or demonstrate new products for distributors and end users.
- Communicate well with other areas of the business to ensure you are working within established programs, pricing, and distribution.
- Maintain vehicle in a professional manner.
- Participate in conference calls and meetings as requested.
- Participate at trade association meetings and shows to promote Ralco products and services.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
- Work with marketing and technology to plan effective communication to your accounts.
- Evaluate opportunities within accounts that may require product development activities.
- In collaboration with your supervisor, build a professional development plan to ensure that you are pursuing and fulfilling your professional and personal goals in a diligent and thoughtful manner.

As a Calf/Dairy Sales Specialist, you are charged with selling a product line and managing its sales growth within the Ralco business. You will be responsible for working with Account Managers and Distributors/Dealers to sell a specified line of products. You will look for opportunities to grow revenues with existing accounts in addition to leveraging your industry connections and relationships to establish new business. You will serve as part of an account team, to ensure a great customer experience. In many cases, you will serve as the account manager, and in other situations, you will support other account managers as part of the team. You will be responsible for the income statement relative to the sales and profitability of your assigned accounts. This position primarily covers Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, but may require travel to other geographies as well.
You must be able to communicate well with all areas of the company. You will work with a technical counterpart. You will also work with a brand manager to define the go-to-market strategy and to perfect the product positioning, key benefits, supporting research, competitive differentiation, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external advocate for your product offering, leveraging the sales team and key customers to support your efforts.

KEY WORK DUTIES AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Education: Undergraduate degree in Ruminant Nutrition, Animal Science, or Agricultural Business related field.
Experience: 3+ years or responsibility in Sales or Marketing. Live production experience preferred.
General: Satisfactorily complete introductory period per company policy
Physical: The following activities are required as needed to perform the job function: lifting, driving, bending, climbing, carrying, and twisting. Confined space entry is not required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key work duties.
Location: This position is not required to be in-office. The ideal candidate will be based in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, or Kentucky.
