What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Abstract specific patient information from medical records and code it into a database according to prescribed protocols
- Maintain and edit data for accuracy and completeness in record-keeping systems for clinical studies
- Support the Supervisor of Cancer Registry in reporting and documentation tasks
- Ensure compliance with standards for Commission on Cancer (CoC) and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC)
- Demonstrate knowledge of clinical trials and contribute to related administrative tasks
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma required; Associate's degree preferred
- Completion of Medical Terminology and Anatomy and Physiology courses required
- Two (2) years of experience as a Cancer Registrar preferred
- CTR certification or CTR eligible required, with certification to be obtained within 2 years of hire
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical trials is required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of standards for Commission on Cancer (CoC) and National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) is preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting related to cancer registry or clinical trials
