      Cardiology Advanced Nurse Practitioner

      Morriston Hospital

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced ANP to work within the Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Team in Morriston Hospital, Swansea. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic team.

      The ideal candidate will be an experienced cardiology nurse looking for a new challenge at band 6 level or an existing practitioner who wishes to develop their skills into the cardiology field.

      The 8a role requires Cardiology experience, possession of the MSc in Advanced clinical practice and non-medical prescribing qualification. You will need to be able to demonstrate good leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously, utilising a high level of both clinical and diagnostic skills, caring for both cardiology and medical patients within the Cardiology Department.

      Main duties of the job

      The role involves working in partnership with the medical team, participating in a 7-day rota which supports the junior doctor rota, supporting the cardiology wards, take part in ward rounds and ensure DALs are completed alongside the junior medical team. Assist with TOE procedures and be part of leading the DCCV nurse led service.

      Eligibility for Band 8a will require evidence of MSc, NMP, Non-medical authorisation of blood and have exposure to consenting patients for Cardiology procedures. You should also be able to demonstrate evidence of your advanced practice by means of successful portfolio ratification by the HB Panel or be close to being able to submit your portfolio for this process. Candidates without all the above, may be considered for a Band 7 role, with progression to 8a on completion of the above
