      Job summary

      The Clinical Coder/Care Co-ordinator is responsible for ensuring that all external and internal patient correspondence is acted upon at the appropriate level and accurately coded in the patients medical record as well as supporting the practice with regards to clinical administration and delivery of services offered at the practice. A sound professional working relationship will be required with the GPs and staff working within the Practice.

      Candidates with suitable experience and skills may attract a higher pay rate.

      Qualifications

      Essential

      • Good standard of education with good literacy and numeracy skills

      Desirable

      • Track record of administrative experience in General Practice
      • Up to date with mandatory and role specific training

      Experience

      Essential

      • Good interpersonal and communication skills
      • Highly organised and excellent attention to detail
      • Time management and ability to prioritise workload
      • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software
      • Ability to work autonomously
      • Ability to follow policy and procedures
      • Accuracy in recording data

      Desirable

      • Knowledge of EMIS Web Clinical System and Docman
      • Good understanding of clinical coding and medical terminology
      • Understanding/experience with regard to GP Contracts, the Quality Outcome Framework and Enhanced Services etc
      • Familiarity with: EMIS Web including templates, searches etc DART, Docman, Health Options, Ardens and iPlato etc
