- Assist clients in increasing their knowledge of specific career fields and help them focus on the current job market demands.
- Help clients develop clear pathways to achieve their career goals and obtain job upgrades.
- Create personalized career plans for clients, advising them on certifications based on their English proficiency, academic background, skills, and work experience.
- Assist clients with enrolling in trainings with partner employers.
- Contribute to NSC's employment blog, virtual job club, and related resources.
- Coordinate with training partners such as colleges, schools, community centers, and employers to conduct workshops and training sessions.
- Provide individual and group job readiness sessions in multiple languages.
- Conduct all activities within funders' and NSC's guidelines.
- Document client interactions and submit monthly reports as required.
- Attend workshops, webinars, and other relevant professional development opportunities to maintain proper licensure and programmatic knowledge.
- Actively participate in weekly department meetings and other meetings as needed.
- 2+ years of Career Coaching or Job Developing experience is preferred. Working within the refugee and immigrant community is a plus. Bilingual skills are preferred, with preference given to Swahili, French, Spanish, or Arabic languages.
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study or 3 + experience in a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation is preferred but not required.
- Basis understand of NSC's mission, vision, values, programs and services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and effectively communicating with individuals and groups .
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills as a demonstrated by compassionate, courteous, cordial, cooperative, and professional interaction with diverse groups of co-workers, external business partners, and the community.
- Knowledge of basic client management procedures for determining eligibility, assessing needs, identifying resources, making referrals.
- Ability to effectively interview and engage a client in appropriate programming,
- Ability to effectively conduct one on one advocacy and/or educational presentations.
- Ability to operate a computer and use a variety of common software programs including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and customized databases.
- Adheres to all NSC and departmental policies and procedures.
- Attends all NSC in-services as required.
NSC is currently operating on a hybrid remote/office schedule.

Each year NSC serves approximately 5,000 individuals from over 110 countries.
As a 501(c)(3), NSC currently has 100+ full-time and part-time employees. Our revenue mix includes public grants and contracts, foundation grants, individual donations, fee for service, corporate sponsorships, and earned revenue. Headquartered in Center City, Philadelphia, PA, we are currently operating a hybrid-remote office schedule.

Program Summary
The Career Readiness Program provides career mapping and related support to refugee eligible groups. The goal of the program is to assist clients in engaging with a lifelong career pathway resulting in increased wages and increased job satisfaction. The Career Coach partners with clients, local educational institutions, available supportive services, and other program staff to support clients’ long-term career goals.
Position Summary
The Career Coach will assist clients in identifying their career goals, developing a career plan and implementing steps towards meeting goals within their plan. The Career Coach will serve as the primary one-on-one contact for enrolled clients. The Career Coach will also hold in-person and virtual job readiness workshops and coordinate supportive services needed to be successful in vocational English, training, and employment. The Career Coach will network and maintain relationships with educational institutions to ensure client success.
The Career Coach has internal contacts with the entire administrative staff and external contact with key partners, clients, funders, visitors, representatives of other social services agencies, and the community. This position has access to sensitive NSC and client information and is expected to handle such information with integrity and professionalism. This position is expected to represent NSC in a professional manner.
The Career Coach will report directly to the Career Readiness Program Coordinator and is expected to participate in all department activities as necessary.

LOCATION AND HOURS This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Philadelphia office with potential for hybrid work as team needs allow. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and this position requires working occasional evenings and weekends. We have COVID-19 safety protocols in place, and we revisit and update them in accordance with city, state, and federal guidelines.
COMPENSATION The salary range is $45,000 commensurate with experience. The benefits package includes generous vacation and sick leave; paid sabbatical leave; summer hours; 77% employer-paid health, dental, and vision coverage; short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, 403(b) with an employer match.
