JOB SUMMARY

To provide domiciliary care to service users in their day-to-day lives, enabling them to live more fulfilling lives whilst helping them remain in their own home by providing high-quality person-centred care, supporting the service user to undertake, a wide range of care needs, taking into account their individual personality and lifestyle choices.

This role will require the Caregiver to be flexible and to work a range of shift patterns including alternate weekends.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of a Caregiver is varied and largely depends on the service users youre working with. These duties include:

• Providing high quality person centred care to service users in their own homes in accordance with their support plan
• Providing personal care duties such as washing, dressing, bathing, toileting and medication monitoring and/or assistance with these activities
• Administering medications
• Shopping and meal preparation support
• Supporting with domestic, daily living tasks including cleaning
• Helping service users to access the community, socialise and undertake leisure activities
• Manual handling, using equipment where required
• Promoting service users health and wellbeing, independence and enabling them to live their life to the fullest
• Being flexible to work a range of shift patterns including alternate weekends
• Maintaining appropriate records to meet the needs of the service, observing and promptly reporting changes or concerns in your service users circumstances or condition.
• Treating service users with dignity and respect, communicating effectively to meet their diverse needs

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL ROLES

The post holder has a responsibility to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk and will be trained to the appropriate level as determined by the post.
