Job Description

- Supervise, train and develop four case planners
- Work collaboratively as part of a team which determines the hiring, firing, promotion, transfer and discipline of their supervisees
- Evaluate all supervisees on a regular and timely basis
- Participate in the approval process around work schedules, vacations, and all other time off, and overtime within the context of agency policy and procedures
- Responsible for the implementation of casework assignments and casework activity, as well as meeting compliance and time frame requirements on all supervised cases
- Direct case management activities of supervisees with children and families
- Participate in the development and growth of program philosophy and practice
- As part of the management team included in step 1 of the grievance procedure
- Provide administrative coverage of entire division after 5:00pm, and on weekends on a rotating basis.
- Facilitate meetings within the program including family, case planning, and FTC meetings
- Provide crisis management
- Provide case coverage on an as needed basis
- Collaborate with child welfare and other community agencies.
- Oversee and coordinate the timely recruitment, training and matching.
- Ensure that monthly multidisciplinary case reviews are conducted
- Attending weekly Rounds and Supervisory meetings
- Conducting bi-weekly team meetings
- Reviewing, editing, providing feedback, and approving FASPs, Court Reports, Comprehensive treatment plans, Managed Care Packets, and other required documentation
- Completing monthly supervisory notes and other supervisory reporting tasks as they arise such as Shared Response, OCFS/ACS spreadsheets, etc.
- Meeting with individual team members regularly for case, youth, and family related supervision
- Ensuring team compliance with Agency, City, and State requirements
- Liaison with JCCA and other campus programs to recruit foster parents and to ensure the smooth transition of youth in and out of the program.
- Must supervise social work interns and collaborate with school of social work.
- Master in Social Work, Public Health or advance degree from comparable human service field with two years of foster care and community based direct practice experience and two years of supervisory experience.
- LMSW licensure preferred but not required
- Solid organizational and follow-up skills
- Computer Literacy (specifically Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and work with a variety of different people
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to travel to multiple work sites via public transportation
- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers (typing and/or writing)
- Ability to stand or walk long distances
- Visual acuity to view documents on a computer screen for long periods of time
- Typical office environment
- Work in extreme heat or cold conditions
- Flexibility to work evenings/nights/and-or weekend
- Ability to travel to multiple work sites in NYC boroughs

The EFFC Supervisor (Bronx) will provide leadership, supervision, guidance and support to all program staff and is responsible for communication of all policies and procedures. The EFFC Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the mission and core values are incorporated to the day to day function of staff with direction with regard to excellence in practice utilizing a Family Centered and Strength-Based model of approach. This position is a critical part of our Foster Care Department and will work closely with the EFFC Director for our Bronx Office.
