- Ability to use computer software applications related to cashiering, program registration and memberships
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to deal courteously with the public

Main Purpose and Function
The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation has Auxiliary opportunities for employment for Cashiers at VanDusen Botanical Garden and Bloedel Conservatory. The successful candidates must be able to work a variety of days and shifts including evenings and weekends. Cashiers must have strong communication and customer service skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of customers.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Cashier duties include processing admissions and membership transactions, payment processing (including credit cards) and making change, and ensuring accurate cash handling procedures are followed, selling and maintaining stock of merchandise and food and beverages, answering general customer service questions and providing information in person and over the phone. The shift hours can range from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday. Some shifts will take place outdoors providing front of house support for large scale events including Festival of Lights. The successful candidate must be able to work a variety of days and shifts including morning, afternoon, evenings and weekends.
