      Description

      ****Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University Hawai'i may apply for Casual Hire positions, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • Execute the design and production of College marketing materials
      • Assist with various design projects
      • Assist the events and alumni managers to produce invitations, programs, etc.
      • Assist in the management of the Shidler brand across all marketing materials
      • Design and layout of the Shidler Business magazine
      • Produce web graphics and assist Webmaster when needed
      • Perform other duties as assigned

      Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelors degree in marketing, journalism, fine arts, or graphic arts and two progressive years of experience in printing and electronic communications.
      • Require working experience of graphics and layout software such as Adobe Creative Suites, MS Office, as well as knowledge of HTML.
      • Knowledge of the printing process with the ability to prepare design to print specifications.
      • Ability to develop online content in ADA requirement.
      • Experience in developing marketing materials and designing magazines.

      Desirable Qualifications
      • 5 years or more with relevant experience, preferably working in a higher education setting.
      • 5 or more years developing layout and design for publications such as magazines.
      • 5 or more years of experience with logo and branding design.
