We currently have an opportunity to play a pivotal role in our business as a Category Manager within the Confectionery business primarily working on chocolate. You will have the opportunity to work on much loved brands including KitKat, Milkybar, Aero, Smarties and many more. The consistent growth of our brands is largely due to the innovation and expertise of our Sales, Marketing and Category teams, who ensure our market-leading products have a prime position on shelves across Australia.A DAY IN THE LIFE OF...
This role will have responsibility for Seasonal and Baking strategic category planning, channel identification, prioritisation and investment strategy as well as supporting initiatives across the broader Chocolate category.Key Responsibilities include;
• Identify priority channels for the category and develop tailored channel category plans
• Identify the ideal product assortment, placement, pricing and promotional strategies based on a clear understanding of shopper behaviour
• Implement point of purchase recommendations through the customer category review process.
• Drive the annual commercial activity and ensure plan is aligned to the market business strategy and delivers on identified channel, category and customer opportunities.
• Recommend annual targets and monitor the success of the annual commercial activity plan through the monthly business planning process.
• Recommend & coordinate responses to customer and competitive activity & threats
• Establish clear promotional guidelines by category and channel, and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our trade investments.
• Provide objectives, sales execution targets and high-level forecasts for all new product development and key commercial activity.

You will achieve success through applying your commercial acumen in understanding and maximising shopper insights in the development of category strategies for execution in our customers’ stores.
Flexing your ability to analyse market – customer and shopper - data, you will help develop strategies based on category and shopper understanding that will see growth through leadership with our major customers and new channel opportunities. Building relationships at all levels within our business, you will develop effective point of purchase initiatives and leverage support for strategic initiatives across our portfolio.
• Minimum 2 years’ commercial experience in a similar role ideally from a FMCG, data agency or consultancy environment
• Strong market and strategic sales experience and have a proven experience in effectively deliver results whilst exceeding expectations
• Natural collaborator with a strong proactive mind-set and be able to influence those around you to drive your Category growth
• Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills as well as advanced Excel and analytical skills
• Your conviction will set you apart as will your passion for sales and resilience to work within a fast-paced agile environment
• Nielsen and/or Circana scan/panel experience essential.
