- Deliver top-tier customer service to both internal and external partners.
- Solicit and directly sell to the local corporate and social catering market to drive business.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries and internal requests.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, proactive planning, and keen attention to detail.
- Maintain and grow assigned accounts while actively prospecting new business opportunities.
- Effectively and efficiently monitor and manage all aspects of the pre-event details: Track, detail, and communicate the particulars of each assigned event and group—including but not limited to – room blocks, meeting space, special concessions, group history and other reports, cut-off and other key dates, contract clauses, group resumes, event orders and BEO’s, billing details, and other integral aspects of groups and events.
- Build Downright Austin as a top place to host weddings and social events including luncheons, galas, and fundraisers.
- Attend client functions as needed to ensure high-quality service and relationship building.
- Accurately forecast group room and F&B revenue while maximizing released space to drive profitability.
- Stay knowledgeable about Downright Austin’s food & beverage offerings, event spaces, and AV capabilities.
- Communicate event details to all relevant hotel departments for smooth execution.
- Work with clients to create profitable menus that align with their expectations and hotel offerings.
- Assist clients in coordinating additional catering support services such as flowers, entertainment, décor, and audiovisual needs.
- Physically double-check all function arrangements against client specifications and correct them where necessary.
- Ensure strong client relationships by effectively communicating to secure repeat bookings.
- Update and increase client prospects through active prospecting and networking.
- Utilize digital sales systems (Delphi, CI/TY, PMS) and implement sales strategies effectively.
- Maximize revenues for the hotel through up-selling techniques.
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and planning sessions to support the team’s success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a unified, team-oriented work environment.
- Proactively seek out professional development opportunities, including training from Concord and Marriott.
- Follow company policies and procedures and execute any reasonable management requests.

Experience: Minimum 2 years catering sales, or 2 years in hotel Catering/Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales or Culinary Arts; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
