      South College, a regional leader in Higher Education, is continuing its growth strategy both geographically and in its program offerings and is launching an exciting new Competency Based Education (CBE) ministry programs, the Master of Arts in Ministry (MAM) and the Doctor of Ministry (DMin).


      This program is designed to allow students to accelerate their doctoral journey through 6-month subscription-based terms that allows each student to progress through each course and the program as they demonstrate mastery in an accelerated format. The MA is a fixed curriculum program consisting of 12 courses in biblical and theological studies, personal and spiritual growth and development, and foundational ministry leadership skills. The DMin consists of nine courses, including four core courses, three specialization courses (Pastoral Ministry, Chaplaincy, Worship Ministry, and Youth and Family Ministry), and two ministry capstone project courses.

      Yes - If you are comfortable teaching and mentoring from a broadly Christian perspective that uses the Nicene Creed as a theological benchmark and welcomes students from a variety of faith traditions, including Roman Catholic, historically Black Methodist and Baptist groups, non-denominational, Reformed, Restorationist, Pentecostal/charismatic, and LDS.


      *This position will be for remote employment.


      Responsibilities

      1. Teach and mentor students in MAM and/or DMin courses.
      2. Provide guidance and support to students in processing assigned reading and viewing, understanding and successfully completing formative and summative assessments.
      3. Provide timely (within 48 hours) and substantive feedback on course assignments.
      4. Provide timely (with 24 hours) responses to emails, text messages, and voice mail from students.
      5. Reach out proactively to inactive and at-risk students to maintain the highest possible levels of student participation and retention.
      6. Stay current with trends and developments in the field of practical theology and ministry leadership.
      7. Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other academic activities as required.
      8. Monitor courses to ensure compliance with South College standards and other accrediting bodies. Make recommendations for editorial improvements in courses as needed.
      9. Participate in course and curriculum evaluations and audits and implement recommendations as requested.
      10. Provide proactive and reactive outreach for students via email, phone conversations, and video conferencing. Consistent and direct communication with students in a variety of modes is essential to the success of this position and to the doctoral students at South College.

      Requirements

      1. Substantial experience in theological education (5 years or more preferred) and evaluation experience in online modalities with graduate and doctoral students.
      2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students and institutional staff.
      3. Substantial experience with learning management systems (Canvas preferred).
      4. PhD/ThD, DMin, or DMiss from an accepted accredited school in one of the following areas: Practical Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Chaplaincy, Youth and Family Ministry.
      5. Record of scholarly publications and/or presentations in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
