General Summary of PositionThe CDI analyst will help drive critical Clinical Documentation Integrity Program business decisions by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data associated with the MedStar Enterprise Clinical Documentation Integrity Center of Excellence. Will work closely with CDI Enterprise Director and other Enterprise leaders to provide suggestions based on data analysis and reporting trends. The CDI Analyst has a strong understanding of CDI data analysis methodologies, CDI Metrics, healthcare systems, identification of discrepancies, trending patterns in data, data organization and analysis and preparation of reports and other documentation and visual optics to assist with understanding and interpretation of data as needed for the Enterprise CDI program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Gathers feedback from CDI Stakeholders to improve reporting processes. Collaborates with CDI Educator and Auditor to identify areas of opportunity for improvement. Communicates analytic results with CDI Director and VP and Assists CDI and other leaders to make informed business decisions. Assists CDI and other leaders to make informed business decisions. Uses statistical methods to identify areas for operational improvement in identified health care and CDI programs. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local data privacy regulations and best practices. Develops and implements data collection systems and strategies that optimize data quality. Ensures healthcare data integrity, compliance, and confidentiality. Contributes to development of data management and reporting systems. Creates reports, analyzing reports, creating custom reporting software and sharing findings with various other departments as need is identified. Inputs data and updates the database continually. Works with IT professionals to coordinate system updates and improvements. Identifies trends and patterns in healthcare data to support decision-making. Contributes to development of data management and reporting systems. Stays current with latest trends and advancements in CDI, AI, and other analytics. Presents investigation metrics to Senior Leadership during quarterly compliance committee meetings and other settings as needed. Designs, develops, and configures interfaces and reports to support operational workflows. Delivers accurate and on-time deliverables, including reports, cost estimates, models, and ad-hoc analysis. Minimum Qualifications Education - Associate's degree business related field, healthcare informatics, Nursing, other clinical fields of study required and

- One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience - 1-2 years related experience required
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Licenses and Certifications - CCDS - Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist preferred or
- CDIP - Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner preferred or
- RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator preferred or
- RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Experience in data analysis and reporting
- Proven working experience as a Health Information analyst
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of Healthcare associated information with attention to detail and accuracy
