What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review patient medical records to accurately assign coding for claims processing
- Ensure compliance with government and insurance regulations in coding practices
- Resolve documentation deficiencies through provider queries and provide feedback
- Perform quality assessments of medical records and coding accuracy
- Collaborate with the Department Manager and AR team on coding-related issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of medical coding experience required
- Credentialing through AHIMA and/or AAPC is necessary
- Proficiency in ICD-10, HCPCS/CPT coding standards
- Strong technical skills in medical software systems and Microsoft Office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience as an Interventional Radiology Coder
- Familiarity with Provider Based and Rural Health coding standards
- Specialty certification in medical coding such as CPC, CEMC, or CPMA
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent customer service and professional communication skills
