What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review patient medical records and translate information into appropriate coding for insurance claims
- Ensure accurate coding and sequencing of diagnoses and procedures in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with the AR department and Department Manager to address coding-related issues
- Perform quality assessments of medical records and resolve documentation deficiencies
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines for client and departmental needs

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3-5 years of medical coding experience
- Must hold certification through AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC, CEMC, CPMA, CRC, CPB, CCS-P, RHIT, or specialty certification)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Strong technical proficiency with medical software systems, Microsoft Office, and coding guidelines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in cardiology and provider-based or rural health coding
- Ability to quickly learn new systems, software, and client specialties
- Strong organizational skills and self-starter mentality with minimal supervision
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service and professional written communication
