What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review medical records and translate information into appropriate codes for insurance claims processing
- Ensure accurate coding and sequencing in compliance with government and insurance regulations
- Resolve documentation deficiencies through communication with healthcare providers
- Perform quality assessments of medical records and manage coding-related issues in collaboration with the AR department
- Keep abreast of current coding regulations and apply this knowledge effectively

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3-5 years of medical coding experience required
- Credentialing through AHIMA or AAPC is required, with accepted certifications such as CPC, CEMC, or CPMA
- Strong understanding of physician documentation requirements in a clinical setting
- Proficient in medical software systems (PM/EHR) and Microsoft Office

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Cardiology experience preferred
- Experience with Provider Based and Rural Health preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong technical skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent written communication and customer service skills
