What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze and code multi-specialty cases performed in the OR by reviewing documentation and ensuring compliance with coding standards
- Identify trends and problems in medical documentation and recommend solutions
- Assist with billing and documentation through daily interactions with physicians regarding CPT and ICD-10 coding inquiries
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations and guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to improve coding accuracy and efficiency

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- Certification as a Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) or CCS-Physician-based (CCS-P)
- Minimum of five years of CPT and Diagnostic coding experience in a healthcare provider or third-party payer setting
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

- Clinical knowledge preferred to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency
- Experience working within a team-oriented healthcare environment
- Familiarity with the Virginia Mason Production System or similar continuous improvement methodologies
