      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Code all types of cases including Inpatient, Burn, Behavioral Health, Observation, ED, Trauma, Surgical, and Infusion and Injections using ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
      - Assist in coordinating coding meetings with the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) team and monitor ongoing coding reviews
      - Ensure all assigned codes comply with current coding guidelines, federal and state regulations, and facility requirements
      - Train and mentor new coding staff while reviewing and auditing various coding types
      - Test and implement new coding software as needed

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Requires an associate degree in Health Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience
      - Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible acute care inpatient and/or outpatient hospital coding experience
      - Must have certification as either RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC
      - Ability to pass a coding exam before hiring
      - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Bachelor’s degree in a related field
      - Dual credentials in coding certifications
      - Experience with automated encoder systems
      - Strong analytical abilities to interpret data for accurate coding
      - Excellent customer service skills and effective communication abilities
