What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct CPT and Ambulatory Payment Classification coding reviews to verify accuracy in outpatient and professional claims
- Apply Medicare, NCCI, and other coding guidelines to maximize overpayment identifications
- Document audit results clearly using AHA Coding Clinic Guidelines and CPT coding rules
- Utilize proprietary workflow systems and encoder tools to make audit determinations and generate rationales
- Meet or exceed established productivity and quality goals while adhering to coding compliance standards

What is Required (Qualifications):
- One or more of the following credentials: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- 3+ years of professional and hospital outpatient coding experience with expert knowledge of AHA and CPT Coding Guidelines
- Familiarity with healthcare payer contract language
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and OneNote with general computer literacy

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior APC retrospective overpayment identification auditing experience
- Superior knowledge of Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and National Correct Coding Initiative guidelines
- Experience with encoder tools such as 3M, Webstrat, and Optum Encoder
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while delivering exceptional results
- Excellent time management and work prioritization skills
