      CHAPLAIN: Full-Time (7:30am - 4:30pm)

      Valley Hope of Atchison is searching for an experienced and passionate person to join our team in the key role of Chaplain.

      E DU CAT I ON & EXPER I E N CE

      Requ ir ed :

      • Ordination by, or licensure from, a recognized ecclesiastical body that ensures pastoral privilege.
      • One (1) year of experience in pastoral ministry
      • CPR certification.

      JOB SUMMARY:

      • Performs assessments of patient’s spiritual needs, motivations, and background; prepares spiritual histories for patient summaries and treatment records.
      • Provides pastoral counseling and spiritual care to patients in support of their substance abuse treatment plans; provides pastoral support to family and support members as needed.
      • Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
      • Participates on a multi-disciplinary treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans.
      • Chaplain communicates with clinical and medical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
      • Provides daily chapel meditations as well as spiritually focused group counseling and educational lectures.
      • Chaplain serves as a spiritual care resource and advisor to facility management; provides spiritual mentoring and training to staff as requested.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      • Residential treatment facility setting; requires walking throughout the facility.
