Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be involved in a variety of laboratory experiments and analyses, focusing on materials selection, corrosion testing, and data collection. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and a foundational understanding of chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and run laboratory experiments
• Analyze test specimens
• Perform tasks on projects related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis, including experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting
• Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment
• Develop capability to work independently on project activities while under the supervision of the project investigator
• Assist more experienced technicians, technologists, and professionals on technical assignments
• Follow the Safety, Health Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects
• Record research activities performed in lab book
• Prepare solutions, clean test cells, move items throughout the lab, and calibrate equipment following prescribed procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills

• Experience or knowledge in chemistry (from a degree or work experience)
• Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot and utilize tools

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Background in chemical engineering
• Experience with chemical testing
• Knowledge of materials testing

Work Environment

You will be working in a lab setting with 12 other technicians. The standard hours are 8am-5pm, with the possibility of working overtime on a regular basis. Flexible start times are available between 7am-9am. This is a 6-12 month contract position with the potential to convert to a direct hire.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
