- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Phased training program to be completed within 1 to 6 months
- Working knowledge of the Kent Oncology Management System or equivalent
- Educated to GCSE level / NVQ level Training program
- IT skills including word processing
- Previous experience working with the general public

Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for scheduling of all chemotherapy appointments, of Kent Oncology Centre and for ensuring patients have received the appointments, making any necessary changes and following up any outstanding appointments throughout the day.
To manage the scheduling of central venous access devices(cvad) and other associated appointments to enable chemotherapy treatment to be delivered .
To supply all relevant documentation for the new patient information clinic.
To monitor the chemotherapy action sheet and ensure that it is completed in accordance with centre policy. To be aware of all Cancer targets relevant to the post.
To ensure that data capture for chemotherapy trial patients is an intrinsic aspect of the appointment system. To assist in the training of chemotherapy support workers.
Main duties of the job
Good communication and IT skills are essential. An ability to work within a busy environment would be necessary to fulfil this role and previous experience in a clinical environment would be an advantage also, previous experience working with the Oncology centre management system and knowledge of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy working practice is desirable.
The Kent Oncology Centre is based on three sites, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals are set in the heart of the Kent countryside and the other at Canterbury, a University City, all offering easy access to London and the Channel tunnel. Accommodation parking and crche facilities are available.
