Act as the “virtual customer” for Rolls-Royce civil aerospace engines, providing the operational context on the use of our engines.
Take a prominent role in the flight operations aspects of sustainable aerospace power system development, including the development of electric, hybrid, sustainable aviation fuel and hydrogen propulsion systems.
Support Civil Sales campaigns.
Provide first point of contact for customer flight operations departments.
Maintain operational proficiency as a pilot on a Rolls-Royce powered corporate or regional civil aircraft.
As part of the “One Team” approach; support other tasks within Flight Operations and establish and maintain credibility as a subject matter expert on civil and future products.
Fly the Rolls-Royce corporate Gulfstream G450 aircraft.
CAA/EASA/FAA Air Transport Pilots Licence.
CAA/EASA/FAA Class 1 Medical (refer to note below).
Commercial flying experience, preferably within corporate or regional jet operations.
High level of technical aviation knowledge.
Aviation management experience, ideally in a technical pilot, fleet manager or safety management role.
Test pilot from a recognised test pilot school.
Type rating instructor or examiner experience, preferably on a corporate or regional aircraft.
Operational experience flying Rolls-Royce gas turbine products.
Instructional or Examining experience.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen within Flight Operations at Rolls-Royce to join the team as the Chief Pilot - Corporate and Regional Engines.
Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations, the Chief Pilot Corporate and Regional Engines is the Rolls-Royce expert in the operation of small and medium power systems within civil aerospace projects.
As the Chief Pilot, you will be the primary liaison with airframe manufacturers, providing significant business value by shaping the operational use of Rolls-Royce products to maximise economic return, whilst providing a feedback route from customer pilots. You will also be providing functional context on the operation of Rolls-Royce civil aircraft design programmes and helping our engineers understand and interpret platform level requirements. You will be the focal point for the Rolls-Royce engineering team on the operational use of small and medium sized civil aircraft.
You will be a dynamic participant in flight test planning and will contribute to the development of future flight deck systems. You will be advising on the production of Engine Operating Instructions for a wide range of Rolls-Royce products, making sure these vital publications are correct, relevant, and understandable by the target aircrew audience.
We will keep you in regular flying practice, including operating Rolls-Royce’s own corporate aircraft.

This in an opportunity for you to provide world-class knowledge on Rolls-Royce products and be responsible for managing and developing close working relationships with OEM’s flight test and flight operations departments. Building relationships also extends to our end-users, specifically key corporate and regional operator customers.
