      Job Summary

      We are seeking a forward-thinking and experienced CTO to lead our technology initiatives and drive innovation. Reporting to the CEO and part of the executive leadership team, you will oversee all technical aspects of the company. In this newly created role, you will lead diverse, talented engineering and technology teams that will be the driving force behind the technology that fuels our growing portfolio of digital products. With a focus on building and launching innovative information and research-related products, the role demands not only strategic oversight but also a hands-on involvement in product development and innovation.

      Responsibilities

      Strategic Leadership

      • Develop and execute the company’s technology strategy to support business growth and objectives
      • Understand the healthy tension between sales, marketing, product, and technology knowing that the best product results from channeling the creativity of all
      • Lead internal innovation initiatives to drive efficiencies in workflow, and client-facing product-development initiatives to develop new products that meet the information needs of our clients
      • Ensure that all technology products adhere to proper security, privacy, business continuity, and other standards
      • Focus on product development to successfully launch technology products that meet client needs and generate desired business outcomes
      • Align technology initiatives with business objectives and communicate vision and progress to stakeholders
      • Foster strong client relationships, understanding their needs and ensuring our solutions meet their expectations

      Product Development

      • Drive the end-to-end technical product development lifecycle from conceptualization to launch
      • Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap and requirements

      Team Management

      • Lead and mentor an exceptionally talented team of innovators and engineers
      • Recruit, retain and develop top technical talent to ensure alignment with company goals
      • Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace environment
      • Promote a culture of agility, innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within the technology organization
      • Encourage intellectual curiosity and innovative ideas, fostering a ‘we can’ culture

      Operational Management

      • Oversee the development, deployment and maintenance of technology systems and platforms
      • Ensure the security of the company’s data and technological infrastructure
      • Manage IT budgets, timelines and quality of technology deliverables

      Qualifications

      • Proven experience as a CTO or in a similar leadership role within a technology-driven company
      • Extensive experience in managing technology teams and developing innovative technology solutions
      • Significant knowledge of technology trends, specifically in the information services and market research industries, and how they can be applied to improve client experience and business operations
      • Experience in supporting business transformation, active collaboration, technical excellence, and the successful delivery of technology, systems, and process solutions
      • Recently led a technology organization through digital transformation and expansion of both scale and complexity with an emphasis on data, data science, unstructured data, artificial intelligence, machine learning as well as data-driven SaaS products, and self-service/highly automated online tools
      • Expertise in full lifecycle SaaS product development includes building effective technology products, successfully bringing them to market, and providing superior customer support
      • Demonstrated success in building and launching technology products, specifically related to information or research services
      • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
      • Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred. MBA is a plus
      • Recent experience in a technology enabled company with a focus on data, research platforms and products preferred
      • Minimum 15 years of experience preferred in areas including organizational management, process improvement, financial planning, complex systems design, large scale data systems, building and delivering profitable SaaS, DaaS, and PaaS offerings, and fostering technology innovation environments
      • Five years of direct CTO management experience either as an enterprise CTO or as a divisional CTO or S/VP of Engineering in a larger organization preferred

      Compensation

      Hanover Research strives to create compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable and fair. The compensation range for this role at the company is $290,000 - $350,000 base salary. This role is also eligible to participate in our variable annual bonus program. This discretionary bonus is based upon both financial performance and individual performance. Please note that the base salary offered is contingent on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our base pay range is determined by the role and the market.
