      Job summary

      You will be expected to work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs at Oakhill STC within the SECURE STAIRS framework. You will be expected to provide guidance to the teams working directly with young people and liaise, as appropriate, with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals. You will support your peers and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will undertake the necessary clinical and administrative duties associated with providing excellent patient care

      To provide a diagnostic assessment and treatment/ management service for children in care, under special guardianship orders

      To join in on other clinicians assessments or contribute to the assessments of children in care wherever indicated

      To hold a caseload of active children in care where specialty input from psychiatry is required

      To hold clinical responsibility for the care of CYP where directly involved and where such level of responsibility is indicated

      To assess risks and manage risks alongside MDT

      Where indicated, will support transitions of children in care to and from inpatient settings, inter-placement transitions and to adult mental health services by means of multiagency care planning for the benefit of children in care

      The post holder will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team and therefore attend multidisciplinary team meetings and provide advice and support to the team.

      To support the further transformation of the service and lead on QI projects.

      To actively engage in links with other parts of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Primary Care Services, Social Services and other agencies relevant to the services

      To have primary responsibility for cases where they have direct face to face contact

      To be available to other professionals when they need to discuss cases

      • Engagement with Annual Appraisal
      • Experience of Safeguarding Children framework
      • Experience in multi-disciplinary teaching
