      Are you looking for an Early Education assistant Child Care teacher role in a welcoming and exciting intergenerational center?

      Opened in 2020, The Pillars Child Care Center is conveniently located off the light rail transit station and close to the metro bus near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. This Intergenerational Child Care Center is embedded in The Pillars of Prospect Park Senior Living community and features 133 Independent living, 106 assisted living, and 44 memory care apartments.

      Under the supervision of the Child Care Director, the Lead Teacher is responsible for the care and supervision of children in their assigned age group, which may include infant, toddler, preschool, or school-age children. Responsible for the supervision of the Assistant Teacher or Aide assigned to the classroom. To lead, plan, and organize childcare program activities to ensure that the program provides the highest quality childcare available.

      This position includes:

      • 30 hours per two weeks , part time
      • Monday- Friday; 2:30 - 5:30
      • Partially Benefit Eligible

      Responsibilities include but not limited to:

      • Research and development of curriculum relevant to your classroom age group
      • Provide weekly plans to both the Director and the parents of the childcare program
      • Ensure implementation of age-appropriate curriculum to nurture and stimulate the psychosocial, cognitive, and cultural needs of the children in their care
      • Responsible for reporting any concerns to the director regarding staff or classroom issues
      • Supervise the health and safety needs of every child
      • Conduct classroom and parent meetings
      • Keeps classroom neat and orderly
      • Train and guide the assigned Assistant Teacher, Aide, and/or Volunteer, involving them in activity planning and program implementation with input from the supervisor
      • Directly supervise classroom aides and volunteers
      • Report all needed information to the center’s Director
      • Ability to perform other duties as assigned and directed

      Required Qualifications:

      • High school Diploma/GED - Child Development or Teacher qualified under Minnesota Rule 9503.003
      • Current Pediatric CPR from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; must be obtained within 90 days of hire
      • 0 to 1 Year of relevant experience

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Associate Degree
      • Bachelor's Degree
      • One to Three Years- Two years teaching in childcare center or early childhood program
