Job Details:
SUMMARY: Responsible for the investigation evaluation and resolution of product, auto, and general liability claims made against the company. Specific responsibilities include conducting a prompt investigation into the facts of a claim; documenting those findings in the Claim System; timely communication with claimants, contractors, and customers; properly addressing tender requests; setting timely and accurate reserves; revisiting those reserves in a timely manner; accurately evaluation of loss exposures; prompt payment and resolution of all claims that are deemed compensable; management of outside vendors such as law firms, private investigators, independent adjusters; identification of subrogation opportunities and prompt notification and recovery of those claims and reimbursement to the proper business unit; management of litigated matters in compliance with all guidelines; timely reporting of claims to excess insurance companies; compliance with all the department guidelines; compliance with SOX requirements; insurance regulations and legal requirement of Tyson or another entity; proper handling of tender; and participation in on-call rotation after hours and any other duties or special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School education or the equivalent is required. Higher education through an accredited college vocational school or specialized training in an industry related field is preferred or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 2 plus years in a related field is required.
Computer Skills: Requires intermediate computer skills Word Excel Outlook. Prefer experience with claims software systems.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Supervisory: This position does not have direct reports.
Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
