What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Process workers' compensation claims, including receiving and processing new claim reports, investigating injury reports, and processing medical payments
- Code and process vendor bills related to workers' compensation claims
- Provide administrative support by assisting members with inquiries and providing front desk coverage as needed
- Maintain adjuster's license and investigate workers' compensation medical claims by taking recorded and written statements, reviewing medical bills and coding, and documenting activities in the claims system
- Conduct research and apply applicable workers' compensation laws, identify potential subrogation claims, and complete necessary forms
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or associate's degree of advanced study or training in a relevant field
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in claims administration or related role
- NC Adjusters License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of workers' compensation statutes and experience in workers' compensation claims handling
- Familiarity with medical coding and terminology
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
