- To assist in the general efficient running of sub-speciality offices including typing/G2transcription, filing, retrieval and storage of patient records, handling post and dealing with telephone enquiries.
- To cover for other Band 2 Clerical jobs as required.
- To act up to Band 3 for short-term absences e.g. annual/sick leave.
- To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcareprofessionals.
- To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors and patients.
- To record attendances, arranging follow up appointments using PAS Patient Administration System and keeping all systems up to date.
- To undertake general office administration duties including filing, using Mediviewer to retrieve medical notes and information, scanning & handling post.
- Excellent communication skills and awareness of confidentiality.

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy admin team within Cardiac Investigations Unit at North Tyneside General Hospital.
The role involves a wide variety of tasks including meeting and greeting patients and relatives on arrival to the hospital, answering telephone enquiries, recording attendances, arranging follow up appointments using PAS - Patient Administration System.
