- Maintains a detailed working knowledge of the HL7 health informatics standard and LOINC (Regenstrief) requirements.
- Conducts Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems conformance Testing from a Clinical perspective and authorizes EMR report display to Lifelabs / Excelleris standards.
- Maintains current knowledge of laboratory procedures to be conversant with clinical issues relating to the development of Tests & nomenclature mapping.
- Successfully remediates daily clinical exceptions to Excelleris’ HL7 processing as it relates to standardized clinical informatics.
- Interacts with LIS analyst from LifeLabs / Excelleris clients in Hospitals, community labs and PLIS & OLIS (Provincial Laboratory Information System) to onboard test codes into the Excelleris Test/Production environments. Consulting with clinicians, medical directors and maintaining current knowledge of laboratory procedures to be conversant with clinical issues relating to the development of Tests.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement/efficiency gains and ensures clinical analyst processes are defined and communicated appropriately.
- Assist in planning, estimating clinical analyst resource needs on projects
- Provide scheduled clinical data reports for projects and products, and advise management of clinical related issues or trends
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Manager Clinical Services & Operational Efficiency.
- Completion of Medical Laboratory Technologist Program - CSMLS Certification (Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science) is mandatory for all candidates.
- 2-5 years’ experience in a laboratory environment is mandatory.
- Knowledge of, and experience with HL7 message/LOINC protocols considered a definite asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must.
- Prior experience in software Quality Assurance is a definite asset.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, familiarity with issue tracking systems such as ServiceNow, Altiris, TFS.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

The Clinical Systems Analyst, reporting to the Manager, Clinical Services & Operational Efficiency, primary functions in this role are to ensure conformance of all lab reports for onboarding or changing requirements to electronic medical records systems (EMR’s) that Lifelabs / Excelleris delivers medical electronic records for. Also, this position will ensure all clinical exception management, nomenclature, test information and quality assurance activities against our service offerings are met to LifeLabs / Excelleris clinical standards as required.
This is a 14 months contract position.

Hiring Range: $64,200 to $81,900
The hiring range has been established, however, the final salary recommendation will be determined based off the level of experience, education requirement, external market conditions and internal equity.
