What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct concurrent reviews of inpatient medical records to identify documentation improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete medical record documentation
- Follow guidelines from The Joint Commission, Medicare, and third-party payers to enhance documentation quality
- Assist in the coding process to improve the organization's performance on quality measures and Case Mix Index (CMI)
- Support initiatives aimed at improving documentation practices across the Ohio State University Health System

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with healthcare providers

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in clinical documentation improvement or coding
- Familiarity with documentation guidelines from The Joint Commission and Medicare
- Experience in a healthcare setting focusing on quality improvement initiatives
- Additional certifications related to clinical documentation or coding
