What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Facilitate and obtain quality physician documentation for clinical conditions and procedures
- Educate patient care team members on documentation guidelines and compliance
- Conduct concurrent medical record reviews for completeness and accuracy
- Identify and initiate opportunities for documentation improvement
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to ensure accurate clinical documentation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate degree with 5+ years of experience in acute care
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI)
- Current active state license as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician's Assistant, or an unlicensed physician meeting specific criteria
- CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist) or CDIP (Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner) certification
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- BSN or higher degree with 3+ years of CDI experience
- Knowledge of clinical documentation requirements for identifying clinical conditions or procedures
- Background in coding
- Familiarity with quality guidelines
- CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification
