- Ensure accurate and complete documentation in inpatient medical records to support precise coding and reporting
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve documentation practices
- Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set by professional organizations
- Conduct reviews of clinical documentation for quality assurance
- Assist in educating staff on documentation requirements and best practices

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN), Physician (MD), Physician Assistant (PA), Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
- Must obtain certification as a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or a Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP) within 2 years of hire
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in clinical documentation or coding
- Familiarity with the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) standards
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
