What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and ensure the accuracy and integrity of clinical documentation in medical records
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to achieve appropriate documentation
- Educate providers and staff on clinical documentation requirements and coding standards
- Participate in the development of educational materials for the healthcare team
- Utilize strong critical thinking skills to integrate knowledge into practice

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing, Health Information Technology, or an advanced degree in a medical field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an inpatient coder or clinical documentation specialist in the absence of a college degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Proficiency in using standard desktop and Windows-based computer systems

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification or licensure as a Registered Nurse, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, or CDIP
- Experience in Critical Care, Medical, or Surgical Inpatient Care Nursing
- Familiarity with databases, spreadsheet software, and presentation software
- Data entry skills with a typing speed of at least 30 words per minute
