      Job summary

      Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow (ST3-9) posts in Urology. This post is available from August 2025 (potentially sooner) for 12 months; extension possible depending on the individual candidate.

      This post is ideal for pre ST3 level candidates seeking to gain a broad urological experience to support a competitive ST3 application. We have a strong history of our Clinical Fellows going on to obtain national training numbers after working in our team. This post is ideal for urologists who are looking to broaden their experience to support a future CESR registration on the specialist registrar. We can offer support for the CESR process and have supported previous fellows through this process. Clinical work will be tailored to experience and training needs.

      The RUH is a busy district general hospital serving a population of 500,000. The role offers a up to 2 training operating sessions per week with Consultant supervision, supervised experience in outpatient clinics, urological procedures and emergency work. There are opportunities to develop audit and research projects, be involved in clinical trials and you will be assigned a named Educational Supervisor.

      You will be offered a whole time contract and will take part in registrar-level Urology on call duties. Ideally candidates should have a minimum of six months experience in urology.

      Main duties of the job

      This is a post developed by the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust. The appointment will not lead to the award of CCT. The post will be based at the RUH and the holder will participate in audit and directorate meetings and undertake administrative duties as required by the Clinical Director of Urology.

      This post is ideal for pre ST3 level candidates seeking to gain a broad urological experience to support a competitive ST3 application. We have a very strong history of our Clinical Fellows going on to obtain national training numbers after working as part of our team. In the last 5 years, 4 of our clinical fellows have obtained NTNs. Equally this post is ideal for urologists who are looking to broaden their experience to support a future CESR registration on the specialist registrar. We can offer support for the CESR process. Clinical work will be tailored to experience and training needs.

      A commitment to maintain professional expertise by attendance at meetings and courses is expected. An interest in research and teaching is expected with participation in projects, courses, etc. to enhance the standing and role of the Department and Trust.
