      About the opportunity

      We are looking for candidates to fill future temporary and permanent full time, part time and casual opportunities as a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, within our Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS). This recruitment is to create an eligibility list only, the eligibility list will be used to fill any future upcoming positions which will be located at our Forensic Medicine Sydney site.

      Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS) specialises in providing independent and objective forensic analysis to the criminal and coronial justice systems, as well as quality scientific analysis that contributes to community health and safety. Our services include illicit drug analysis, forensic and drug toxicology, chemical criminalistics, forensic biology and DNA, forensic medicine, environmental toxicology, and environmental microbiology.


      Psychometric testing will form part of the assessment process.

      What you'll be doing

      The CNC is an expert clinician within Forensic Medicine, responsible for improving the quality of clinical advice at the front end of Coronial processing, and supporting the Forensic Pathologists to provide informed recommendations to the NSW Coroners.

      1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse (General Registration) with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
      2. Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, including a minimum three years full time equivalent experience in a trauma or cardiac care specialty area.
      3. Demonstrated ability to participate in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
      4. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, health professionals and clients through high level interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills.
      5. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills including advanced level computer skills and effective teamwork skills.
      6. Proven ability to work with the deceased in an environment that could be distressing, ensuring to raise any associated concerns and/or need for support, adopting self-care strategies and promoting same for staff.
      7. Demonstrated capacity to adopt and model the NSWHP RITE values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence.
