- Must be a graduate of a U.S. state-approved and accredited nursing program.
- Must have a current unencumbered California RN license by the program start date.
- Must have graduated no more than 18 months prior to the start date of the Nurse Residency program
- Graduation date no earlier than February 2023
- Must have less than 12 months of RN work experience on the start date of the Nurse Residency Program .
- Must have a current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification for a healthcare provider by program start date.
- Note : If required by the specific unit, additional certifications including AHA ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, NRP, or others, must be completed by the program start date.

- Purpose of Unit : Supports our progressive care and medical-surgical units for their nursing staffing needs to ensure appropriate staffing levels and safe patient care can occur daily. Our team covers overflow areas within the hospital and assists where needed when emergency needs arise, caring for patients within their floating cluster.
- Float Units : Nurse Float Pool floats to the following areas: Cardiac Surgery PCU, Neuro/Stroke PCU, Oncology PCU, Heart Failure PCU, Short Stay/Specialized Adult Focused Environment Units, Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit. Additional areas that the nurse float pool covers are: Surgical Procedure Area (SPA - Cath Lab recovery unit), Emergency Department RME area, ED Tele Admit area, Women's PCU postpartum

- Top 5 Diagnoses : Patient population includes patients needing urologic surgeries, colon & rectal surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, abdominal surgeries, wound care, and have COPD/pneumonia/asthma

- Purpose of Unit : One of the newest units at Sharp Chula Vista, and focuses on patient-centered care for women with a wide variety of diagnoses who may need continuous cardiac monitoring

- Number of Beds : 16-24 (room for 32 in times of surge)
- Purpose of Unit : Provides care for patients requiring less than two midnights in the hospital. The unit has approximately 25-30% short stay patients and the rest is overflow PCU patients. SAFE unit specialized in organic brain disease and dementia

The stated pay scale reflects the range as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, NUHHCE, AFSME, AFL-CIO. Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.
