      Clinical Policy Writer - Wokingham

The Governance and Quality Assurance team provides internal services, with a core focus on continuous improvement and learning to maintain compliance and offer assurance, direction and guidance to the broader teams and functions across Optalis Services.

This is an exciting time to be part Optalis and help shape the future of our adult care and nursing services as we expand our portfolio within the Wokingham borough!

      Main duties of the job

Working with Head of Service and Registered Managers, you will lead the development and publishing of clinical policies and procedures that ensure the people we support receive the highest level of care. The role will include creating approximately 35-40 policies, covering a number of clinical responsibilities in care homes with nursing.

Gathering information from CQC, NMC, colleagues and residents, you will write easy to understand policies and procedures with clear clinical guidance. Using Croner-i and our base templates, you will ensure they are fit for purpose and relevant to Optalis services.

There will also be a requirement to validate the accuracy and relevance of the information, as well as keeping records of revisions, updates and deletions of current policies.

The role will involve the need to visit other Optalis sites, such as Bluebell House in Wokingham and Hollies Care Home in Burghfield Common.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
