Job summary
We are looking to appoint two enthusiastic Band 7 clinical psychologists to work within Mental Health Services for Older People at North Tyneside General Hospital.
The post-holder would work alongside a supportive and cohesive multidisciplinary teams including nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers. The post would include working with older adults with functional and organic presentations an include therapy and neuropsychological assessment. The post will include opportunities for development under supervision of more senior psychologists.
Main duties of the job
The post-holders would be part of the clinical psychology provision within MHSOP in North Tyneside. They would be part of an expanding MHSOP psychology service and work closely with other professionals. They would provide psychological / neuropsychological assessment, formulation and therapy for older people with mental health difficulties. The post holders would also be expected to provide advice to colleagues and carers, on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care and treatment.
The two new B7 posts would be split between inpatient and community parts of the service, allowing broad development opportunities within MHSOP. The post holder will work as a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing high quality individualised care.
Where appropriate the post-holder will provide clinical supervision to less experienced staff, in accordance with service needs.
The post-holder will utilise research skills for clinical audit, and to inform service development.
