      Job Profile Summary

      • Delivers specific Utilization Review tasks assigned by a supervisor in the Medical Management job family.
      • Determines whether services provided to plan members were actually medically necessary.
      • Develops and maintains knowledge of provider organization review procedures.
      • Reviews clinical information submitted by providers to appropriate criteria and standards and makes decision to issue a review determination or to refer to physician review if criteria are not met.
      • Handles moderately-complex cases and investigates unusual utilization patterns.
      • Promotes cost effective utilization and quality patient outcomes and may partner with providers to determine best solutions.
      • Assures compliance with accrediting agencies and federal regulations.
      • Assists in preparing, maintaining and disseminating utilization review reports and communications.
      • Completes day-to-day Utilization Review tasks without immediate supervision, but has ready access to advice from more experienced team members.
      • Tasks involve a degree of forward planning and anticipation of needs/issues.
      • Resolves non-routine issues escalated from more junior team members. Requires clinical licensure.

      Summary:

      Interact with providers on clinical issues and matters related to non-certification and other clinical issues as well as interaction with non-clinical staff and acts as an intermediary with the department Director. Responsible to perform prospective, retrospective and concurrent review consistent with eviCore clinical review protocols and URAC standards. Responsible to perform peer to peer consultations. Comprehension of the principles and procedures of utilization management of the AAHCC/URAC standards. Full knowledge and understanding of eviCore’s clinical guidelines/medical policies. Interpret clinical data as applicable. Participate in Grievance and Appeals Process. Other duties as necessary.

      Minimum Experience:

      Minimum of ten (10) years of clinical experience.

      Mandatory required:

      Stated Physical Therapist (PT) license in good standing, in the state the applicant lives in.

      If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

      For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 28 - 47 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

      This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
