Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Support Assistant to work in Gateshead West Community Treatment Team.
The post will involve working as part of a team that provides high quality community mental health care and treatment. This post is specifically to be involved in the physical health pathway and support with clinic sessions as well as working alongside the wider MDT to deliver support to individuals in the community.
If you are successful your role will be to assist in the delivery of care and treatment to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions under the direction and guidance of a registered practitioner.
An aspect of the role is to work alongside nursing colleagues, in the teams physical treatment clinics.
The team consists of a well-established mix of professionals that work collaboratively to deliver individualised care.
The role involves supporting the clinical members of the team to deliver evidence based treatment and to engage in collaborative working across the multi-agency team.
You will be provided with additional training and regular clinical supervision.
Main duties of the job
To assist in the delivery of care to service users who have a variety of needs, diverse presentations and a range of mental health conditions, under the direction of a registered practitioner.
To implement and evaluate care within a prescribed framework as a member of the care team ensuring that high quality, individualised care is delivered and that this promotes recovery and wellbeing and maximises independence.
To support in the running of treatment clinics including phlebotomy and physical health checks.
To maintain electronic health records of any treatment interventions completed.
To work as a member of the team in providing excellent and effective person centred care.
To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
To actively engage with supervision and appraisal process as identified in Trust policy.
