- Evidence of a general education e.g. GCSE's or equivalent
- NVQ II in Healthcare / QCF Diploma in Health Level 2 or equivalent qualification in the area of speciality (e.g. Operating Theatre Practice for posts in theatre) or an equivalent level of working experience within a similar role
- Knowledge and experience of taking clinical observations
- Knowledge of hospital systems
- Knowledge of Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
- Experiance working in a healthcare setting
- Some experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital or registered care setting

Main duties of the job
Our ward areas are busy, fast paced and but also a highly supportive environment to work in.
As a Clinical Support Worker you will be expected to ensure that patients' receive high quality clinical care and a good patient experience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs and principles.
The successful post holders will be expected to provide support and assistance to professionals in the implementation of care plans for individual patients.
As part of your role you will ensure the safety and wellbeing of service users, always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights, through the adoption of persons centred care principles.
As a Clinical Support Worker within MEC you will act as an advocate for patients within the ward / department, to ensure a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care.
