Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Tutor in General Medicine in Morriston Hospital, Swansea. This post is ideal for a trainee (Internal Medicine Trainee) who intends on pursuing a career in medicine and is interested in medical education and teaching and have completed both their Foundation year 1 and 2 posts.
This is a full time teaching post for one year commencing on 7th August 2024 with no on-call commitment. Funding is provided for the successful candidate to undertake a postgraduate certificate in medical education during the course of this year.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to attend induction sessions, teach on medical wards, medical admission units and outpatient clinics, and facilitate teaching and learning opportunities for Graduate Entry Medicine students (year 3 and 4)
The successful candidate must be working towards or have been awarded their MRCP and have a demonstrable interest in medical education.
The clinical tutor would work under the educational leadership of Dr Thinzar Min and will be supported by undergraduate medical team on site.
This post is open to trainees interested in pursuing a career in any branch of medicine, specifically gastroenterology, respiratory medicine, diabetes and endocrinology, palliative care and stroke. Applicants can spend up to two sessions per week towards their specialty training. Integratinglearning opportunities into these sessions is encouraged.
