- Grade 12 plus 1 year or more related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience preparing, formatting, editing and proof-reading high level and confidential correspondence, records, and information.
- Experience in developing, editing, drafting and producing a wide variety of written documents.
- Experience in copy editing and proofreading documents.
- Experience with business-related software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and electronic correspondence tracking system (e.g. CLIFF, e-Approvals).
- Experience managing diverse workloads effectively and independently.
- Experience working in an executive or government office.
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in English, business English, or related field.
- Experience with project coordination.

The Policing and Security Branch is part of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General. The branch assumes responsibility for ensuring the security and economic vitality of British Columbia’s communities through effective policing and security.
The Correspondence Writer provides professional writing services to support a variety of diverse ministry issues. The work is carried out in a confidential environment where communication issues frequently concern complex, sensitive and often highly political matters. This requires mature judgement, discretion, critical thinking skills, an understanding of public relations or communications principles, diplomacy and effective interpersonal skills.

This position is located in Victoria, Vancouver or Surrey. Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
