      JOB DESCRIPTION

      The Cloud and Platform Engineer is tasked with designing, implementing, and maintaining the globally available and high-volume architecture on which Victor’s services are deployed. This person is responsible for bringing forth unique/innovative solutions to challenging problems and owns them from ideation through implementation and maintenance. Additionally, this is an engineering position responsible for identifying and recommending technologies and solutions across the Victor product suite.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Help recruit a high performing cloud operations team to design, implement, and operate the Victor infrastructure
      • Inform critical decisions regarding software technology selection, balancing features and operational priorities, and setting high standards for quality and on-time delivery
      • Aid in the design and development of API first, services/microservices oriented architecture which can scale, is resilient, performant, and secure
      • Develop future-ready, high quality, highly-performant, scalable, and redundant server infrastructure
      • Support executive and sales teams through architecture briefings, demo setup and execution, and data modelling
      • Strong experience in change management and code deployment through SDLC and Agile Frameworks
      • Performs root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance/enhancements for existing applications
      • Support application deployments/releases

      EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

      • 8-10 years experience with both front-end and back-end exposure
      • A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and/or any other related field preferred
      • Have deep architectural knowledge of programming, design principles and data structures. Adaptable to changing architecture and new technologies.
      • Design and build code that can be changed/refactored easily. This includes not only a design that allows for it but the unit tests to prove nothing will break
      • Experience building enterprise SaaS platforms within Fintech or financial services
      • Have experience with distributed and big data computing technologies and Platforms
      • AWS Serverless architecture experience
      • Strong communication, analysis and problem-solving skills.
